Saturday, April 1, the Little Sisters of the Poor once again broke out the rocking chairs for the Annual Rock-a-thon and Bake Sale. The event is one of the Residence’s big fundraisers for the year with a goal of raising funds to replace over 500 windows at St. Joseph Residence.

The day started out with drizzle and cold but by afternoon, things were hot and rocking! The Residents “Rockers” did a great job getting sponsors to help raise funds. The Enfield High School Jazz Combo kicked off the festivities. Other live entertainment included Snapback, formerly known as the New England Ukulele Ensemble and crooner Dave Colucci.

The Bake Sale was a huge hit with donations from members of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Simsbury, Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI and many other personal donations. Baked goods included cookies, cakes, and pies. There was a raffle at the conclusion of the event. According to Sr. Frances, Director of Development, the event was such a huge success.
