Marvelous Mardi Gras at St. Joseph’s Home

Marvelous Mardi Gras at St. Joseph’s Home

On Fat Tuesday, we celebrated Mardi Gras (Shrove Tuesday) with a celebration that rivaled the revelry in New Orleans. Several people dressed in festive costumes, we had a lively parade and sampled delicious King cake. It was a celebration fit for a King and Queen. The Residents, Sisters and staff all enjoyed the festivities before entering into the Lenten season. This year’s celebration was extra special as the Little Sisters of the Poor mark their 150th anniversary of their arrival in the United States. Even some of the parade float reflected this joyous celebration. Happy Mardi Gras!

The Enfield Post printed a story and many wonderful photos from our celebration, click here for an image of the article.
